Entretiens sur La Pluralite des Mondes by Fontenelle 1701

Entretiens sur la Pluralité des Mondes (Conversations on the Plurality of Worlds) was written by Bernard Le Bovier de Fontenelle. The first edition came out in 1686. My edition was published in 1701. Fontenelle wrote this book in French rather than Latin in order to present the heliocentric theory of Copernicus and speculate on the possibility of extraterrestrial life to people without scientific backgrounds. The book is probably famous for the folding plate that shows a universe filled with solar systems.
