"Is Mars Habitable?" by Alfred Russel Wallace - 1907

Here is a copy of Alfred Wallace's "Is Mars Habitable?", published in 1907, that picks apart Percival Lowell's claims of intelligent life on Mars. This is probably one of Wallace's more obscure works, whereas he is more well known for his works on natural history and evolution. In 1904 Alfred Wallace also wrote a book titled "Man's Place in the Universe" that attempted to explore the possibility of life on other planets within our solar system and concluded that the Earth was the only planet in our solar system capable of supporting life. Wallace concludes this book with the statement "Mars, therefore, is not only uninhabited by intelligent beings such as Mr. Lowell postulates, but is absolutely UNINHABITABLE."
