L'Atmosphere by Camille Flammarion

The 1888 edition of L'Atmosphere is the first known occurrence of the famous woodcut that has often been thought to date from the 15th or 16th centuries. Joseph Ashbrook, in his book "The Astronomical Scrapbook", makes the case for the woodcut originating with Camille Flammarion.
