Observations of the Nebulae by William Parsons - 1850

This book is an excerpt from the Philisophical Transactions that reports the observations of nebulae by William Parsons, 3rd earl of Rosse, using his 72 inch telescope. The book appears to be inscribed by William Parsons to another individual. There are several more inscriptions within the text of the article that appear to be by the same hand. Figures 1 and 2 show the spiral structure of M51. See my other book "The Monster Telescopes, Erected by the Earl of Rosse, Parsonstown", which describes the construction of his 36 inch and 72 inch telescopes.
