Two Celestial Planisphere Prints From Atlante Novissimo by Antonio Zatta - 1777


Planisferio Celeste Settentrionale (northern sky) and Planisferio Celeste Meridionale (southern sky) from Antonio Zatta's splendid 18th century atlas Atlante Novissimo that was published in 1777. The Planisferio Celeste Settentrionale print shows the observatories at Pisa, Bologna, Padova and Milan around the outside of the planisphere. The Planisferio Celeste Meridionale print shows the observatories at Paris, Greenwich, Cassel and Copenhagen around the outside of the planisphere. These prints are water stained along the center folds and they are mounted in acid free matte boards.
