"Histoire du Ciel" (History of Heaven) was written by Noël-Antoine Pluche, and is a later edition. This book deals with mythologies of the sky. This book was once owned by Charles Messier. The monogram inscription indicates that he held the titles "Astronomer of the Royal Navy", "Member of the Academy of Sciences", and the 1782 date is the year that he achieved the title of "Associate Astronomer".
