Venus Transit - June 5, 2012

Hydrogen Alpha Image

Venus transit photographed with a Coronado 60mm solar telescope and an Olympus OM1 using Kodak Technical Pan film. The dark bands in this photograph were produced by cirrus clouds that were present during the transit.

Web Camera Images

Venus transit photographed using an 8 inch SCT, and a SPC900NC web camera. I was set up along with a number of the members of our local astronomy club to allow the public to observe the transit. We had a very large crowd on hand throughout the afternoon, and I took photographs as time permitted.
